Durham Tech Men in Nursing chapter conducts supply drive for Haiti

The Durham Tech Men in Nursing chapter conducted a supply drive for nursing students and their families in Haiti in response to the floods from Hurricane Matthew. More than 150 supply kits were sent to the Haiti School of Nursing by way of Dr. Tim Bristol of NurseTim, who has been leading medical teams to Haiti since 2007. Supply kits included school supplies and personal items.

Durham Tech was recently approved as a Men in Nursing Chapter from the American Assembly of Men in Nursing, making Durham Tech the first North Carolina community college to have a local chapter of the national organization. Assisting fellow nursing students on a global level was the chapter’s first community service project.
