Wes Moore comes to Durham Tech

As part of the Dr. Charles Sanders President’s Lecture Series, Durham Tech was pleased to host best-selling author Wes Moore on Wednesday, December 3. After first meeting with the Debate Club, Moore spent more than an hour speaking to a nearly packed ERC Auditorium about his book and the insights he gleaned while writing it. “The Other Wes Moore” contrasts and compares Moore’s life with that of another African-American man who grew up in Baltimore around the same time. The author, after early run-ins with the law, went on to become a Rhodes Scholar after graduating from Johns Hopkins University. He is a decorated combat veteran and a former White House Fellow. The “other” Wes Moore is serving a life sentence without parole for felony murder.
