Phi Beta Lambda attends NCPBL conference, nabs awards

Eight members and two advisers from Durham Tech’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) attended the NCPBL Fall Leadership Development Conference in Greensboro (N.C) on November 6th and 7th.

The chapter was awarded the Gold Star chapter award and won the Membership Recruitment Display competition.

Betina Van Dendend, who is studying Business Administration at Durham Tech, won the state’s pin design competition. The winning pin will be produced and sold at the NCPBL State Leadership Conference in April.

Janice Kerber and Michele Parrish, advisers for the chapter, led a workshop titled “Team Building: An Essential Element in Leadership Success.” Parrish also was a speaker at the conference’s general session.
