Durham Tech faculty and staff members participated in the 6th bi-annual Hillsborough Handmade Parade on Saturday, October 15. This year’s theme was “Walk of the Wild Things,” and Durham Tech’s Orange County Campus team got into the spirit with their “School of Fish” designs.
This Mardi Gras-style street parade is a grassroots community event organized by the Hillsborough Arts Council (for more information, go to http://www.hillsboroughartscouncil.org/handmade-parade). The “floats” are completely created by members of the community and include giant puppets, stilt-walkers, wild costumes, marching bands, and much more. The event culminates at Cameron Park with food, music, and an opportunity to take a closer look at all of the amazing handiwork.
Thanks to our colleagues for your super creative work and promoting Durham Tech among the Hillsborough community!
