Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) congratulates first graduating faculty class

TLA Graduates

Durham Tech’s 1st TLA graduating faculty class

Fifteen Durham Tech faculty members have successfully completed the first Teaching-Learning Academy (TLA) in the Teaching-Learning Center (TLC). The TLA focused on high-impact practices around the following themes: adult learners, active learning strategies, classroom facilitation strategies, assessment strategies, and the NC Community College System.

The course included five online Sakai modules and two face-to-face workshops on Saturday mornings. It was held through the fall semester. The TLA successfully created a community of Durham Tech full-time and part-time faculty who are committed to student success.
